MY CAREER JOURNEY

 With an academic background in psychology and sociology, I have over twenty years experience in program management, delivery and evaluation in the tertiary education sector, improving outcomes for both students and employees from diverse backgrounds and improving access, engagement and retention of those belonging to under-represented groups with unique needs. I have led international student programs, leadership development programs and have developed successful mentoring programs for university students and staff. I have worked closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to deliver culturally appropriate engagement and development programs for young people, particularly in STEM education, career development and outreach.
I am trained in various methodologies of impact measurement through Social Ventures Australia and Huber Social in addition to being an accredited Conciliator and trained Mediator through The Resolution Institute.
I am a member of Social Value International (SVI) and the Social Impact Measurement Network of Australia (SIMNA) and have contributed on various Committees and Boards including Ethical Review Boards,   University Ethics, Equity and Social Justice committees, Disability, Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) and Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Implementation committees.

MY VALUES

In my approach to undertaking consultancy projects I am committed to best practice in research ethics, and the SVI Social Impact Measurement Standards.  

I am passionate about the wellbeing of people, communities and the environment and am committed to equity, inclusion and social justice, and reconciliation with First Nation peoples. I acknowledge my own privilege in my approach to working with disadvantaged and marginalised groups and individuals, and will continue to be on a learning journey with each community I work with.

I believe in a better quality of life an equal opportunity for all and find it rewarding to be able to facilitate development, growth and opportunity, both personal and professional,  for those who have been challenged by disadvantage and marginalisation.

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country where I am privileged to travel, work and learn, in particular the Traditional Custodians of Whadjuk Nyungar Boodjar,  the Country I am grateful to be able to call 'home'. I offer my respects to Elders past and present, who lead the way for future generations, and trust in them to guide me in the way that I live and work on Country.
